The New York Mets are planning plan to skip a start for ace Matt Harvey sometime this month.
Harvey, who started against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday and is lined up to face the Washington Nationals next Tuesday, was scratched from one start last month as the team attempts to keep him under 180 innings for the season.
Mets manager Terry Collins said he has two dates in mind to sit out Harvey, who missed the entire 2014 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Harvey carried an 11-7 record and 2.48 ERA into Wednesday's start and has already pitched 160 innings. The 26-year-old right-hander is unbeaten over his last six outings, posting a 3-0 record while allowing a total of four runs.
The Mets are planning to switch to a six-man starting rotation to ease the workload on Harvey and rookie right-hander Noah Syndergaard.
