MOSCOW (AP) Russia's CSKA Moscow has signed Ivorian striker Seydou Doumbia from Roma on loan less than a year after he left CSKA to join the Italian club.

CSKA sold Doumbia to Roma in January after a run of good performances in the Champions League, but he only scored twice in 13 appearances during an injury-troubled end to last season in Serie A.

Doumbia has returned to Moscow on loan until the end of December with an option to extend the deal to the end of the season, CSKA says in a statement.

The 27-year-old forward will be able to play for CSKA in its upcoming Champions League playoff matches against Sporting Lisbon on August 18 and 26, the club said.
