The Arizona Diamondbacks could very well be receiving a reinforcement in their bullpen this week.

MLB.com reports that Randall Delgado, who has been on the disabled list with a sprained ankle, may rejoin the D-backs later this week.

"If his foot's fine, his arm's fine, we feel comfortable," manager Chip Hale said. "He hasn't missed that much time."

The right-handed reliever holds a 4-3 record with a 2.79 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings over 41 appearances this season.

The report says that Delgado is slated to make a rehab appearance Wednesday in the Arizona Rookie League, after which he is expected to be activated from the DL in time for the Diamondbacks' weekend road series against the Atlanta Braves if all goes well.
