Running back Joe Mixon, who has yet to play a down for Oklahoma, is back in the news again Tweeting Wednesday, "This Season Dedicated To My Haters."

Mixon deleted the Tweet within the next hour, but it was captured by Oklahoma City radio host Zach McCrite of 107.7 FM The Franchise.

It's a curious thing to Tweet, considering Mixon was suspended for all of last season after punching a woman in the face in a Norman, Okla., restaurant in July 2014. The incident was caught on videotape, but the tape was not released to the general public. Members of the media were allowed to view it.

Mixon wasn't kicked off the team, but was not allowed to participate in practices or any team activities for the past year. After last July's altercation Mixon deactivated his Twitter account. The Oakley, Calif., native reactivated it just hours after being arraigned on a misdemeanor charge in mid-August 2014.

Mixon is eligible to play this season.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops has been defending the university's decision to not distance itself from Mixon, even in light of Florida State dismissing two players in the past month for similar situations. Oklahoma State also dismissed star running back Tyreek Hill shortly after last season for a domestic violence issue.
