ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Los Angeles Angels third baseman David Freese left Wednesday night's game against Minnesota in the fourth inning after getting hit by a pitch.

Freese appeared to get hit on the right arm after turning in an attempt to avoid Mike Pelfrey's inside pitch to the right-handed hitter. Freese took first base after getting hit, but eventually left the game after consulting with manager Mike Scioscia.

Freese entered the night batting .241 with 11 homers and 43 RBIs. He grounded into a double play in his first at-bat against Pelfrey.

Taylor Featherston replaced Freese for the Angels, who led 3-2. The AL West leaders had won six straight games and 16 of 19 overall.
