Last season, Larry Sanders could barely get on the court for the Milwaukee Bucks. Not even a year later, he's considered a top candidate for an NBA award.

The Bucks have rolled out a campaign for him for the defensive player of the year and the most improved player awards. It's been a fast rise for a player who wasn't sure he belonged in the league after a rough start to his career.

Now he may be the key to Milwaukee putting up a fight against mighty Miami in the first round of the playoffs.

The next step Sanders is trying to take is getting better control of his emotions. He's been ejected five times this season and has been fined more than $100,000.
