Christian Williams scored 17 points to help Jackson State snapped a two-game losing streak, beating Southwestern Athletic Conference-foe Prairie View 65-60 Monday night.

Derrell Taylor and Kelsey Howard tallied 10 points apiece and combined to grab 13 rebounds for Jackson State, which held a 31-25 rebounding advantage.

Prairie View (10-15, 5-7) scored the game's first four points and led 16-15 with 13:34 left in the first half. But Taylor hit a jumper to spark a 15-7 run and give Jackson State (6-16, 5-8) the lead for good, 31-22.

The Tigers stretched their lead to as many as 16 in the second half.

Jourdan DeMuynck's 12 points led Prairie View, which outshot Jackson State 46.9 percent (23 of 49) to 43.1 percent (22 of 51) but made just 11 of 20 free throws. Jackson State knocked down 17 of 24 shots from the stripe.
