Rio and Anton Ferdinand say they are "disappointed" by the actions of England's soccer leaders during the past year in the fight against racism.

They say "deep divisions" in the game have been exposed.

In a joint statement released Wednesday, the brothers down-played the idea of a breakaway body to combat racism, saying they are "committed to working with football's existing organizations towards the betterment of the game and to achieve immediate action."

Chelsea captain John Terry is serving a four-match domestic ban after being found guilty by the Football Association of racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during a Premier League game last October.
