Bologna signed Italy striker Alberto Gilardino from Genoa on Friday for an undisclosed fee.
Gilardino, 30, has 17 goals in 47 fixtures for Italy since his international debut in 2004 and helped his country win the 2006 World Cup.
He just signed a four-year contract in January with Fiorentina, but makes the switch to join the seventh club of his career. Gilardino has also played at AC Milan, Parma, Piacenza and Verona.
Terms of his contract with Bologna were not disclosed.
