KwaZulu Natal, South Africa – Adilson Da Silva closed with a 3-under 69 on Friday to win the Vodacom Origins of Golf by one shot.
Da Silva finished at 12-under-par 204. It was his 10th Sunshine Tour victory.
After a slow start, Da Silva was 1-over for his round through five holes. He caught fire with five birdies in a six-hole span from the sixth at Selborne Park Golf Club.
The 40-year-old Brazilian parred the next five holes before stumbling to a bogey on the 17th. He parred the last to hang on for the win.
Second-round leader Doug McGuigan posted a 1-under 71 to share second place at minus-11. He was joined there by Danie van Tonder, who fired a 67 on Friday.
Desvonde Botes also carded a 5-under 67 in the final round to end alone in fourth at 9-under-par 207.
