The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim activated catcher Chris Iannetta off the 15-day disabled list Saturday.

Iannetta had been on the shelf since May 8 after undergoing surgery on his right wrist because of an injury suffered when he was hit by a pitch.

In 26 games this season, the 29-year-old is batting just .197 with three home runs and nine RBI.

The Angels optioned catcher John Hester and pitcher Hisanori Takahashi to Triple-A Salt Lake to make room on the roster for Iannetta and pitcher Zack Greinke, who was acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in exchange for infielder Jean Segura, and pitchers Ariel Pena and Johnny Hellweg.

Hester hit .212 with three home runs, four RBI and 14 runs scored through 38 games for the Angels, while Takahashi is 0-2 with a 4.37 ERA over 33 appearances out of the bullpen this season.
