Pirates reinstate Hanrahan from bereavement list

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Pirates have reinstated closer Joel Hanrahan from the bereavement list.

Hanrahan comes into Sunday's action with a 1-0 record, six saves and a 4.22 earned run average in 11 games this season.

Pittsburgh also placed pitcher Daniel McCutchen on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique.

McCutchen suffered the injury while taking batting practice prior to Saturday's game against the Astros. He was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, when Hanrahan was put on the bereavement list.
