The Philadelphia Phillies put outfielder Laynce Nix on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a strained left calf among several other roster moves.

The Phillies recalled left-handed reliever Jake Diekman from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to fill Nix's roster spot and help out in the struggling bullpen.

Raul Valdes, another lefty reliever, and infielder Hector Luna were selected from Lehigh Valley and joined the Phillies prior to Friday night's game with the Padres, while right-hander Justin De Fratus was transferred from the 15- day DL to the 60-day DL with a right elbow sprain.

Nix, who was signed to a two-year deal in December, is batting .326 with two homers and 11 RBI in 22 games.
