Anaheim, CA – Ryan Getzlaf scored the game-winning goal with 2 win over the Calgary Flames at Honda Center.
Corey Perry scored and added a helper, while Bobby Ryan also lit the lamp for the Ducks, who snapped a brief two-game losing streak. Jonas Hiller made 27 saves.
The Ducks have now won 15 consecutive games against Calgary on home ice, which is the longest win streak against a single opponent at home in franchise history.
"That was a big win for our group," Getzlaf said. "We have half the battle done this weekend. Tonight was an emotional one. We have to enjoy it right now and get ready for the next one."
Curtis Glencross and Alex Tanguay scored for the Flames, who have lost five of their last six games. Leland Irving gave up all three goals on 38 shots.
Perry began the game-winning play by gaining the offensive blue line on the right wing. He glided to the top of the right circle and laid off a drop pass for Getzlaf, who wired a one-timer that beat Irving high to the far side.
Working with an early power-play chance following a too many men penalty on Anaheim, the Flames opened the scoring just 3:06 into the opening frame.
Holding the puck along the right boards, Olli Jokinen sent a pass down low for Glencross, who sent a quick wrister on net from the sharp angle that squeezed past Hiller to the far side.
The Ducks answered at 5:58 of the first period after Teemu Selanne fought his way through the Flames defense and went up the right wing on a 2-on-1 with Ryan. Selanne held the puck until he reached the right circle and feathered a pass to Ryan, who ripped it into the open net.
The Ducks grabbed a 2-1 lead at 7;41 of the second period when Getzlaf outworked his defender behind the net and moved out to the left circle. Getzlaf looked up and waited for a pass before finding Perry and he tapped it home from in front.
Calgary fought back to tie it at two just 4:27 into the third period when Mike Cammalleri took a pass from Jarome Iginla in the slot and ripped a hard wrister on net that was stopped by Hiller, but Tanguay was there to pump home the rebound.
"We were in a battle," Flames head coach Brent Sutter said. "We gave up a goal with 40 seconds left, especially like that. A two-on-five coming into your zone, we just all stood there and watched. It's a tough way to lose a game, especially it's big points we let get away from us."
