MIAMI – A person familiar with the situation says the Miami Dolphins have cut employee pay because of the NFL lockout.
Salaries will be cut 10 to 20 percent effectively immediately for all support staff, the person told The Associated Press Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the Dolphins have not publicly announced the cuts. The person says the percentage is higher for higher-paid employees.
Employees were informed of the reductions by Dolphins CEO Mike Dee at a meeting Tuesday, and told they'll return to full pay when the lockout ends, the person told AP.
The Dolphins declined to confirm the reductions, which were first reported by The Miami Herald. It was unclear whether the coaching staff or general manager Jeff Ireland would be affected.
