Canadian immigration website crashes during election

In the midst of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, anyone wishing to look into possibly moving to Canada had some difficulties Tuesday night.

The Immigration and Citizen page repeatedly crashed as election results rolled in and started to show Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in the lead.

An attempt to access the website showed a “500 – Internal server error.”

A laundry list of celebrities, including Lena Dunham, Bryan Cranston and Stephen King, has all threatened to leave the U.S.  should Trump win the election.

Trump held a slight 254 to 209 lead as the clock struck midnight Wednesday.
