Sean Hannity: Flynn first victim of liberal, anti-Trump witch hunt

The left is trying to make Flynn's resignation into the next Watergate

Liberals are predictably wasting very little time trying to create a political firestorm over retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn stepping down as President Trump’s national security adviser.

Let's be clear: It was wrong that Flynn misled the president and vice president about his phone call with the Russian ambassador. Like the military man he is, he owned up to it. He did the right thing and stepped down.

But there's something much bigger and darker going on here. The alt-radical left has a master plan to damage and destroy President Trump, and as collateral damage, anyone connected to him. This is about the left’s willingness to do anything to stop President Trump from draining the swamp and changing the status quo in Washington.

The Washington D.C. swamp is rising up. It is colluding and viciously fighting to take down the 45th president and his entire administration. It's that serious.

The alt-radical left is hell-bent on annihilating everybody around the president, from top advisers like Kellyanne Conway, Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus, Stephen Miller, Sean Spicer and Sebastian Gorka, to even the president's own children, including his 10-year-old son.

Just look at how various members of the Democratic Party and the establishment media have taken aim at various members of Trump’s inner circle in recent days:

“Mike Flynn was already a very divisive and unusual choice for this job because he's such a -- it's kind of a consensus-building position, and his background is really as a hothead,” New York Times editorial page editor James Bennet said on CNN earlier this week. “He's already kind of a divisive force within this White House.”

“So Stephen Miller, let's take you to class for a second here, because I know you didn't go to law school,” MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough said Monday. “You're not worthy to be in the White House, you're unworthy to be in government if that's what you believe, unless it's Vladimir Putin's government.”

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., who called for Trump’s impeachment before he was even sworn in, praised the portrayal of Spicer on “Saturday Night Live” as a power-mad loon who physically attacks the press.

"Saturday Night Live" really did portray him just about as he is. I mean, he is an embarrassment even to Trump,” Waters said. “And so I don't know how long he's going to last.”

Finally, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., with no evidence whatsoever, called Bannon a racist.

“It's a stunning thing that a white supremacist, Bannon, would be a permanent member of the National Security Council,” Pelosi said.

One by one, in true Saul Alinsky form, the left and liberals in the mainstream media have been systematically going down the line of people close to President Trump and trying to take each and every one of them out. In "Rules for Radicals," Alinsky explained exactly what we're seeing.

"Pick the target,” Alinsky wrote. “Freeze it. Personalize it.  Polarize it."

The left learned the lesson well, and now it smells blood in the water. The ultimate target is, of course, President Trump. Ant the fact that Flynn may have had contact with Russia prior to Trump’s inauguration seems to be their weapon of choice.

But did you know that in 2008, before President Obama was even elected, the guy that ultimately would become the ambassador to Russia went to Moscow to visit government officials? The media doesn’t make much of that, because facts don't really matter. Flynn is just a small casualty of that bigger plan. The left is trying to make what happened here into the next Watergate.

These are the same liberals who fiercely defended Hillary Clinton, ignored and defended her massive private server scandal and effort to allow Russia to take control of U.S. uranium supplies. They ignored and defended the corruption and pay-to-play at the Clinton Foundation. They ignored and defended Hillary Clinton's endless lies.

The left was also noticeably silent back in 2012 when President Obama was caught on a hot mic telling Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that he could help take down missile defense systems in Eastern Europe once he was re-elected.

Ever since Donald Trump ran for president, there's been this liberal witch hunt. They are salivating. There's a sense of urgency. Nobody connected to him is off limits. They want everybody.
