President: U.S. misjudged ISIS, strength of Iraqi army

President Obama sat down with the friendly journalists at “60 Minutes” Sunday night.

On two occasions, I literally rewound the tape to see if I had heard the president correctly…
The first time I did this was when the president blamed the intelligence community for his failure to foresee the threat that ISIS would become.

“Jim Clapper has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” he said.

President Obama rolled “the beast” over his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. (By the way, this is the same James Clapper who admitted to telling “untruths” to Congress last year.)

The president said they underestimated ISIS but that was on the basis of intel provided by his intelligence adviser.

In other words, “it’s not my fault, folks.”

The military intelligence community is actively pushing back on the president’s claim as we speak.
One former senior pentagon official: “either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullsh***ing.”

And then it happened, the president went “there” again.

A few minutes later, “60 Minutes” correspondent Steve Kroft asked the president about the economy…

The president said that he was fixing a problem he inherited from President George W. Bush 43.

Again, he said, “it’s not my fault, folks” … I inherited a lousy economy from Bush. But this time.. The president crossed the line: "when I took over unemployment was up at 10%..."

My head almost exploded. I know what the unemployment rate was in January, 2009 because that’s what I do -- I follow the money.

Fact check! In Jan 2009, the unemployment rate was 7.8%.

For the second time, in less than 20 minutes, the president of the United States blamed someone else for his own mistakes.

And he was even willing to use false data to further place blame.

Unfortunately for America, a correspondent for “60 Minutes” was not prepared to push back.
I knew immediately the number was false. Kroft let the president off the hook.

The real problem, however, is this. Our president chose to blame anyone and everyone for his failures. Everyone, that is, except himself.

That’s not leadership. That’s not character, that’s gutless immaturity.

From a Nobel Prize-winning, two-term leader of the free world.

I’m not sure whom I  am more mad at. The president,  for not manning up to his mistakes…
… or the voters who gave the guy a second term.

That’s just my opinion folks. Of course, I could be wrong…
