Foster Poultry Farms has recalled about 220,450 pounds of fully cooked frozen chicken nuggets that may contain blue plastic and black rubber, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The products were produced on Feb. 22, 2016 and March 8, 2016, and they were shipped to distributors in Alaska, Arizona, California, Utah and Washington.

The following items have been recalled:

• 5-pound bags containing FOSTER FARMS “Breast Nuggets - Nugget Shaped Breaded Chicken Breast Patties with Rib Meat.” The bags exhibit best by dates of 2/21/17 and 3/8/17.
• 10-pound bulk boxes containing FOSTER FARMS “Fully Cooked Breast Nuggets - Nugget Shaped Chicken Breast Patties with Rib Meat Fritters.” The boxes contain package code 6053 and 6068.

According to the FSIS, the products subject to recall have the establishment number “P-33901” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Foster Poultry Farms discovered the problem after receiving several consumer complaints. As of Friday, the Farmerville, La., company hadn’t received any reports of adverse reactions to the products.

The FSIS advised consumers who purchased the recalled items not to consume them, and to throw them away or return them where they purchased them. Those with further questions can call the Foster Farms Recall hotline at 1-800-338-8051.
