The King of all Pregnancies was right.
According to In Touch Weekly, England’s fabulous Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, may be six weeks pregnant.
If this is in fact true, I can only express my deepest congratulations to the Royal Family. This couple represents beauty in the face of the all the ugliness that we are presently facing in the world, and this news is just the cherry on the top of their glamorous lives.
But I digress—back to the alleged pregnancy.
An unidentified source told In Touch the Duchess of Cambridge is six weeks pregnant—which means we might potentially be looking forward to a royal baby in July 2012.
If you’ll recall, in a previous article around the time of the royal wedding, I predicted a similar due date for the duchess.
So what’s important for Kate to do now if she is in her first trimester?
I would suggest that she—and any other women early into their pregnancies—eat a very balanced diet, and if at all possible, continue to exercise, providing that there are no underlying medical problems.
It is important to take folic acid, which prevents neural tube defects. This is also an ideal time to get a dental checkup.
Yes, you heard me right. Dental cleaning is quite important since oral bacteria can lead to miscarriages or preterm labor.
I’m sure that by now, a pregnant Kate would’ve seen a doctor, who would’ve done tests including a blood count, hepatitis screening, and measurements of other hormonal levels.
Finally, morning sickness typically lurks just around the corner for mothers-to-be who are this far along.
Here are some tips to deal with the nausea:
-Carry along a bottle of lemon extract to sniff, or try eating lemons or drinking lemonade
-Stay hydrated with water
-Eat several small meals a day
-Take vitamin B6
-Use seasick wristbands
-Drink ginger ale, or add ginger to tea
-Find a distraction (For a duchess, this shouldn’t be too hard!)
