Sprinkles celebrates 35 years of cuddly Care Bears with colorful cupcakes

Sprinkles Cupcakes is teaming up with the creators behind the Care Bears for a pretty sweet partnership. 

In honor of the colorful bears' 35th anniversary (they first appeared on greeting cards in 1981), the California based cupcakery is offering limited edition Care Bear-themed sugar decorations through Jan. 25 at all locations nationwide. According to a Sprinkles spokeswoman, "special in store goodies" will be available at select stores on Jan. 21-- which, fittlingly, is National Hug Day

HOW TO DECORATE CUPAKES LIKE A PRO

Six Care Bears decals featuring Cheer, Grumpy, Birthday, Funshine, Good Luck, and Share will be available on any of the company's usual cupcake offerings-- including bestsellers like red velvet and classic vanilla as well as some of their more unique rotating flavors like chai latte, banana peanut butter and lemon coconut.

Launched in Beverly Hills in 2005 by Candace Nelson, Sprinkles has has 22 locations across the country today. In 2012, Sprinkles debuted the world’s first Cupcake ATM, providing cupcakes to customers with a sweet tooth 24/7.  The ATMs are restocked daily with a fresh variety of the bakery’s cupcakes and cookies.

Some of the bakery’s biggest fans include Hollywood A-listers Blake Lively, Oprah Winfrey and Ryan Seacrest.

Though adorable, the Care Bears-themed treats aren't the first Sprinkles collaboration. The bakery partnered with Uber in 2014 for a single-day promotion in which drivers delivered customers four cupcakesl, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Dallas Education Foundation’s Project.
