'Brady Bunch' house renovations reportedly causing issues for local neighborhood residents

It seems HGTV’s plan to purchase and renovate the iconic “Brady Bunch” house is causing a bit of a headache for the home's neighbors.

According to TMZ, various neighbors in the San Fernando Valley area where the house sits are furious with the home renovation network’s production team for turning their otherwise quiet neighborhood into a massive televised construction project.

The outlet notes that the plans for renovation are massive, with HGTV workers planning to expand the home from a 2,400 square foot house into a 6,000 square foot property. Neighbors are reportedly upset with the street congestion, noise and spectacle that the renewed interest in the house has generated among “Brady” fans.

As previously reported, HGTV scooped up the house after winning a bidding war against former *NSYNC band member Lance Bass. According to reports, the house sold for upwards of $3 million amid a slew of interested buyers. However, it seems that those selling the iconic home, which provided exterior shots of the house the massive Brady family lived in during the sitcom’s run, were keen to dish it out to a corporate buyer.

“How is this fair or legal?? How can I compete with a billion dollar corporate entity? I truly believe I was used to drive up the price of the home knowing very well that this corporation intended on making their offer and it’s not a good feeling,” Bass said, prior to learning that HGTV had beat him. “I feel used but most importantly I’m hurt and saddened by this highly questionable outcome. I just hope it is not demolished. Thanks for all the love and support.”

The singer changed his tune once he realized who he had lost the home to.

“HGTV??! Aw man, I’d be pretty upset if it were anyone else, but how can you be mad at HGTV?? My television is stuck on that channel. Kudos HGTV, I know you will do the right thing with the house. That was always my biggest worry. I can smile again,” Bass tweeted.
