Susan Sarandon took to Twitter to comment on a nearly 20-year-old rumor that she fought with co-star Julia Roberts on the set of the 1998 drama “Stepmom.”
When the rumors surfaced back in the ‘90s, both Sarandon and Roberts denied them, but Sarandon took to Twitter on Sunday to share that she has now discovered it was a member of her team that was spreading the gossip.
Sarandon shared a link to an article that Entertainment Weekly published back in 1998 about the rumors of a feud on set.
In that article, Sarandon told the publication the rumors were untrue.
”If you make a movie with a male star everyone assumes you’re f---ing. If it’s a female star, everyone assumes you’re fighting.”
Roberts added that the claims were predictable telling Entertainment Weekly, “This is such a yawn.”
“Stepmom” told the story of a blended family, and it reeled in about $160 million at the box office.
