Katy Perry has pulled out as the headline star of Alibaba’s kick-off concert to mark Singles Day in China.

The “Firework” singer, who was to perform alongside OneRepublic and basketball star Kobe Bryant, cited a family emergency as the cause for the cancellation.

Perry, who has a large fanbase in China, apologized to her fans on Chinese social media platform Weibo, writing, “Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance … due to a family emergency. I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon.”

Soccer star David Beckham will take her place for the concert.

Starting Tuesday, Perry has been vocal on Twitter about her disappointment in Donald Trump winning the presidential election.

“Gonna cry my false eyes lashes off tonight,” the staunch Hillary Clinton supporter wrote on election night.

Singles Day is the largest retail shopping day in China, marking the date 11/11.
