Jared Fogle's ex-wife told CBS News about the day her quiet life in a small suburb in Indiana was disrupted, and the image of the man she knew crumbled.

On July 7, 2015 the FBI came to the home Katie McLaughlin shared with Fogle with a warrant seeking evidence of any pedophile behavior from her husband.

"That’s how I found out, yeah," and she claimed she knew, "nothing about his involvement in anything."

It was only a matter of months before the Fogles life fell apart. The TV personality is now serving 15 years in prison for having sex with minors.

McLaughlin, who has sole custody of their children, explained that, “He had two lives going on. You know, he was home with the kids and I in one life and he was out on the road in a different life, and he was able to keep those two very separate in a way that I couldn’t even fathom.”

As far critics who accused McLaughlin of knowing her ex-husband’s sickening actions, she addressed them saying she would never endanger her own children to potential abuse from Fogle.

“There are going to be people out there who believe what they want to believe about me.  I mean, how could anyone think that I would stay married to a man and have children with a man who was doing this? Of course I wouldn’t be there. Of course I wouldn’t stay with him. I did not know,” said McLaughlin.

Fogle, 39, was sentenced last year to more than 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing and receiving child pornography and traveling out of state to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor. Fogle has paid restitution to 14 victims, but they can still sue him for additional money.
