Jana Kramer's estranged husband Michael Caussin is speaking out for the first time since the couple announced their separation in August.
The former football player told People, "I acknowledge that certain actions and behaviors have caused issues in my marriage and I am deeply sorry for the pain I have caused Jana."
He added, "I have and will continue to take the steps needed to change who I am as a person in order to be a better husband and father."
Kramer and Caussin met on Twitter in 2014 and got engaged after four months of dating. They married in May 2015 and welcomed their daughter Jolie in January 2016.
Kramer told the magazine that while she's been burned before -- she's been married two times before Caussin and had one broken engagement -- Caussin's betrayal was the worst.
"Mike was the biggest of the betrayals because it was the first time in a relationship where I truly loved the version of me," the country singer told People. "I didn’t feel I had to prove that I was good enough, I was vulnerable and finally at peace with myself."
Caussin entered rehab following their split for "undisclosed reasons." Us Weekly reports the former Washington Redskins player is seeking help for sex addiction.
Kramer recently opened up about her first ex-husband's attempt to kill her. She is currently competing on season 23 of "Dancing With the Stars."
