Julia Roberts is all about living in the "present."

Donning an elegant button-up Bally dress with gold accessories, the "Mother's Day" star glows on the cover of InStyle magazine's June issue, and in her interview with the glossy, she opens up about finding ways to unplug, working with the best in the business and lessons she hopes to pass down to her children.

The 48-year-old actress stars opposite George Clooney in " Money Monster ," a crime film directed by Jodie Foster, which hits theaters on May 13. Roberts admits that working alongside Foster was a bit intimidating .

"Well, in my mind, she's so scary, but she's really sweet," Roberts explains. "Because she's Jodie Foster. Because she's so talented, notoriously brilliant. And she's such a great actor. And really, she is very no-nonsense. She doesn't think that there has to be some incredible, painful struggle to accomplish your goals."

"I thought she was crazy to be helming me and [my co-star] George [Clooney]," she continues. "It's like trying to keep puppies in a box."

After a long work day, Roberts likes to completely unplug. It's part of the reason why she's decided to stay off social media, and avoids reaching for her television remote every chance she gets.

"Listen, I don't have my head in the sand. I'm aware of the different outlets, however you label them," she says. "It's like people talking about a TV show -- I can be perfectly aware of the TV show and the story, but it doesn't mean I watch it."

"I have other friends who watch it, and they tell me about it," she adds. "I mean, we were talking about Instagram. Everyone has Instagram on their phone. And I just, yeah, [if I had it] I would be looking at it all the time."

And being fully in the present is something she hopes her three kids, Hazel, 11, Phinnaeus, 11, and Henry, 8, with husband Daniel Moder will learn from her example.

"It's about allowing time to just exist," she says about spending time with her family. "Conversations require a complete disregard for the clock -- so that you can just listen and really be present. It becomes a paradox of efficiency and presence. That's why I love the summer. I just don't care what time it is."

It all went down when Corden called Clooney, who then dialed up his "Money Monster" co-star to come along for the ride.
