The Latina contestants from all over the world are set to take on the Miss Universe pageant.
There’s no mistake this time.
Ariadna Gutiérrez, better known as Miss Colombia – yes, the one who for a few minutes erroneously was declared Miss Universe last December – has landed a role in the next installment of the Vin Diesel "xXx" franchise, “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.”
Gutiérrez is set to play Diesel’s girlfriend. The 22-year-old beauty will be in six scenes and has three pages of dialogue, according to the celebrity gossip web site, TMZ.
Gutiérrez is heading to the Dominican Republic to start working on the movie, which is her first, TMZ reports.
The movie will also feature UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor.
Through no fault of her own, Gutiérrez became the most famous Miss Universe contestant never to win the prize when the pageant's host, Steve Harvey, announced her as the winner instead of the actual one, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines.
Gutiérrez later conceded in interviews in her homeland that the experience had been humiliating, but later told Harvey during an appearance on his television show that she had put it behind her.
On the show, which aired earlier this year, Harvey said to her, "Because of a mistake I've made, I cast you into a spotlight, a place, that I never intended to, that I would not want to happen to anybody. I just want to say how sorry I am."
