Jennifer Lopez is getting involved in some shady business in her new TV show, “Shades of Blue.”

The singer-actress released the trailer for the upcoming NBC drama on her Facebook page on Sunday, in which she plays an NYPD police detective named Harlee Santos whose instincts are to let the means justify the ends.

“So proud of 'Shades of Blue,” Lopez, 46, captioned the video. “Check out the trailer now! Who we think we are and who we turn out to be … Are they ever the same? #FirstLook #ShadesofBlue.”

In the trailer, Lopez arrives at an apartment that soon becomes a crime scene when her partner, played by Dayo Okeniyi, mistakes video game gunfire for the real thing. Very quickly, matters of right and wrong take a turn into a gray area.

“I’ll protect you, but you’ve got to trust me,” Lopez tells her partner before shooting him in his bullet-proof vest. “The truth is in the paperwork,” she adds.

As the trailer develops, Santos gets deeper into trouble after she is caught up in an FBI corruption sting and pressured to rat out her boss.

The NBC drama – which also stars Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo – premieres Jan. 7, 2016.
