PEOPLE Magazine named "The Avengers" and "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth as this year's "Sexiest Man Alive."
Hemsworth and his model wife Elsa Pataky thought it was pretty funny when he heard the news.
"I think you've bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house," he told PEOPLE. "I can just say to her, 'Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don't need to do the dishes anymore, I don't need to change nappies. I'm above that. I've made it now.'"
When it comes to his diet, however, Hemsworth is very disciplined, but he also has said he looks forward to his "cheat" days.
"Then it's pizza, hamburgers, beer, sugary things," he adds. "Everything I'm not allowed to have!"
He joins a list of handsome gentlemen with the honor, including Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Patrick Swayze, Sean Connery, Ben Affleck, Channing Tatum and Adam Levine. Mel Gibson, another Australian, was the first in 1985.
Hemsworth did reveal in the interview with PEOPLE, he much rather be with his wife and three kids in Australia.
"We just had a big beach day with the kids, swimming and kicking the ball around," he says. "That was the first time in a long time we've done that. That's what it's all about."
Hemsworth packed on 20-lbs of muscle for his role as Thor. "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is slated to premier next year. He is also going to star on Ron Howard's "Blackhat," also slated for 2015.
He will also reprise his role as Thor in "Thor: Ragnarok" in 2017.
