The wife of Mexican actor Gael García Bernal is not hiding that she smokes marijuana on a regular basis – including in front of her two children.

Talking to THC magazine, which specializes in pot culture, Argentinian actress Dolores Fonzi said she began smoking marijuana more than 20 years ago when it was quite common, according to El Mundo, a Mexican newspaper.

“In that moment, I used it to open up … now I take a dose of it and I use it to relax. It’s like the glass of wine that we savor,” said the 35-year-old actress, who now lives in Mexico.

Fonzi, who is on the magazine’s cover, said she does not hide that she smokes and does everything while under the influence of the controversial drug. She even smokes marijuana in front of her children, ages 3 and 5, and takes care of them high.

"I do what I need to do during the day," she said. "I take the children to the garden. I feed them. I bathe them. I give them dinner. Then, I smoke, and it's how I break with everyday obligations. I use it to read, to see movies or sleep. They [my children] see it and realize that it is not a common cigarette."

She understands that not everyone can use the drug recreationally.

“…I do almost everything smoked (up),” Fonzi said. “If they ask me about smoking pot, I will tell them.”
