NBC will air the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, August 25, the network announced today.

While no host or producers have been announced, the awards show will be broadcast live starting at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

NBC traditionally broadcasts the Emmys in August when it’s its turn to host due to football commitments in September, but the Monday airdate is a rarity for all networks. The Creative Arts Emmys, which always occur the weekend before the primetime kudos, had already been set for the weekend prior. Moving the awards to Monday will keep the awards show from interfering with a potential preseason Sunday Night Football game.

Both the Oscars and the Golden Globes used to air on Monday nights before moving Sunday, a night that has become synonymous with big events.
