Married people Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and perpetually single best friend George Clooney decided to build neighboring vacations homes in Los Cabos, Mexico, several years ago. "We saw this oceanfront lot and thought maybe it made sense to building something," Gerber told the new issue of Architectural Digest magazine.
First it was going to be one giant crash pad for everyone, but they soon came to their senses and built two independent structures. Still, they say their two casas are basically used as a single home.
"Our lives go back and forth," Crawford said. "We'll have cocktails at our place and dinner at George's, or vice-versa."
The compound has been dubbed Casamigos, "House of Friends," which is also the name of the tequila brand that Gerber and Clooney recently launched (which is odd as their drink is not a house).
While the homes share a similar outline, Clooney's is darker and clubbier. "They're not twins, but more like sisters or cousins," Clooney said. "If my house were truly open it would present too many opportunities for people to take pictures."
Which the notoriously private Clooney no likey.
