Girl Scouts of the USA is celebrating a big milestone this year, and young actress Bailee Madison has been helping them celebrate with the Hallmark Channel film “Smart Cookies.”

Madison, 12, stopped by the FoxNews.com Live studios to talk about the role and to give us some updates on her current projects.

“The film’s really just so, so sweet,” Madison, who tells us she always wanted to be a Girl Scout, said.

“I got to discover, it’s not just about selling cookies,” she said. “It’s about  staying true to who upi are, finding yourself, having courage and just believing in yourself and being truthful, and I have so much respect now for Girl Scouts.”

Madison is also the national spokesperson for the charity Alex’s Lemonade Stand, which encourages children nationwide to raise money to find a cure for cancer by running their own lemonade stands.

“From the moment that my mom and I started this business, we always said that it wasn’t about the movies, it wasn’t about being on TV, it was about making a difference, and we were always searching for a foundation that I could grow up with and feel passionate about," She said. "I came across Alex’s Lemonade Foundation, and I just started handing out lemonade and volunteering and I always say from that first cup of lemonade that I passed, I fell in love with it."

“Smart Cookies” premieres on the Hallmark Channel on August 18 at 8 p.m. ET.
