The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice claimed that she was denied the opportunity to compete on "Dancing With The Stars" ("DWTS") because the producers do not want "Housewives" on the show, the New York Post reported Friday.

In response to a fan's recent tweet saying that she should be on the hit ABC competition dance show, Giudice wrote, "Would [love] to but they don't want 'Housewives' this season. But Playmates are OK?" -- a reference to past stints from Kendra Wilkinson, Holly Madison and Pamela Anderson.

Giudice's seeming disappointment at being shut out of competing on the show came on the heels of her declaration to Us Weekly that "DWTS" is her favorite show.

The feisty Bravo star's desire -- and failure -- to get on "DWTS" is turning into a yearly gripe.

Last year, she hinted on Twitter that she was asked to participate in the show.

"I am thinking about doing 'Dancing With the Stars,'" she wrote in July 2010. "What do you guys think?"

She followed that tweet up with another, asking, "Who should I make them give me as a partner? [Dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy] is the hottest, no?"

While reality stars ranging from Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino of "Jersey Shore" to Kelly Osbourne and Kim Kardashian tangoed on the show in the past, no "Real Housewives" have ever been cast.

ABC had no comment on Giudice's recent tweet.

Season 11 of "DWTS" is due to start Sept. 19. The official casting announcements have not been made yet.
