Los Angeles- Marilyn Monroe's dress from "The Seven Year Itch" is going to a collector who bid $4.6 million at a weekend auction of Hollywood Memorabilia.

The dress was among the film costumes and props collected by Debbie Reynolds over four decades. The "Singin' in the Rain" star, who is 79, abandoned her dream of seeing the collection housed in a museum.

An auction spokesman said the name of the Monroe dress buyer isn't being released.

Other pieces in the Saturday auction included Audrey Hepburn's costume from the Ascot race scene in "My Fair Lady" and a headdress worn by Elizabeth Taylor in "Cleopatra."

A final tally of the auction's take was being calculated Monday. About 600 items in Reynolds' extensive collection were up for sale, with another auction planned in December
