Camera Flashes to Brad and Angelina as Jen Aniston Is On Stage
FOXNews
The real reason millions tuned in to the Oscars was to see if Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would cross paths with Jen Aniston and John Mayer
Sure, everyone says they watched the Oscars to see if "Slumdog Millionaire" and Mickey Rourke could fulfill their rags-to-riches story arcs and walk home with Academy Awards.
But the real reason millions tuned in was to see if Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would cross paths with Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer.
Admit it.

And while there were no red carpet fisticuffs, or even path-crossing (that we saw), there were some tense moments when Aniston took the stage to present a couple of awards with "Kung Fu Panda" star Jack Black.

Oscar telecast producers panned to Brad and Angelina not once, but twice, as a visibly nervous Aniston did her schtick.
In the first pan to Brangelina, Jolie was gamely guffawing as Aniston, whom Pitt left in 2005 in order to be with Jolie, hammed it up.

In the second pan, the couple looked on with the bemused half-grins we've come to know from literally thousands of paparazzi pics over the past three years.
So who won?
At first, it seemed Jen was having a "deer-in-the-headlights" moment. But in the end, that she successfully composed herself and soldiered through such an awkward situation, makes her one of the night's comeback kids.
