Tennessee celebrates Dolly Parton with statewide '9 to 5 Day' tribute

Fans across Tennessee are honoring country music icon Dolly Parton on Sept. 25, with pink lights, tributes and celebrations inspired by her hit song '9 to 5.'

Communities across Tennessee are marking Sept. 25 with Dolly Parton-themed celebrations, including pink lights and coordinated performances of '9 to 5' at 5 p.m. State Sen. Jessie Seal has also proposed legislation to officially designate Sept. 25 as '9 to 5 Day,' with lawmakers expected to consider the measure in 2027.
