And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:
Front Page News
The Boston Herald says the White House refused to grant access to President Obama's Boston fundrai ser tonight in part because the paper ran a front page op-ed essay by former governor and likely Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney back in March.
A White House spokesman told the Herald -- quote -- "My point about the op-ed was not that you ran it but that it was the full front page -- on the same day the president was making another trip to Boston -- I think that raises a fair question about whether the paper is unbiased in its coverage of the president's visits."
Romney's camp said the op-ed was -- quote -- "about jobs which apparently is a sensitive subject for the thin-skinned people around the president."
Tweet All About It
Former Michigan Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm zinged Arnold Schwarzenegger in a Twitter post about news he fathered a child with a member of his household staff.
Granholm tweeted -- quote -- "Another guy guv admits to cheating on his wife. Maybe we need more women governors. Guys: keep your pants zipped, for Pete's sake."
Sex and Politics
And speaking of sex scandals involving male governors, CNN ran a story Tuesday that listed a number of Republican and Democratic indiscretions. But TV Newser reports the on-air version omitted the very public fall of New York Democrat Eliot Spitzer, who resigned as governor after it was revealed he had used a prostitution service.
Spitzer, of course, hosts a show on CNN.
The online version of the story did mention the former governor.
