Jimmy Failla: I was trying to make sure I didn't get a parking ticket Video

"Fox News Saturday Night" host Jimmy Failla looked back on his unlikely path to becoming a FOX personality, recalling his first television appearance while still driving a New York City cab — and keeping it double-parked outside the studio.

"When I was first getting booked on FOX, I was legitimately a cab driver... my first hit at FOX, I had my cab double-parked on 6th Avenue with the trunk open and the hazards on, because I was trying to make sure I didn't get a parking ticket..." he told the "Hang Out With Sean Hannity" podcast.

"I literally went in and did a hit and ran back out and had to finish my shift," he added.

Failla, who appeared on Thursday's episode of Sean Hannity's podcast, said he landed the first hit after performing at the Gotham Comedy Club when he was approached with an offer to appear on Kennedy's FOX Business show.

"[A producer] was like, 'Hey, wanna be on FOX tomorrow?' And I was like, 'Yeah... I didn't even know if it was real," he recounted.

Despite dropping in for the special debut appearance, more work had to be done. Failla still had to drive the remainder of his shift for the day, so he stopped for an hour and did a hit at FOX before getting back to the driver's seat.

After the segment aired, Failla couldn't resist sharing the milestone with the passengers who climbed into his cab.

"I told every passenger and everyone, 'I'm on TV tonight!' And they were like, 'Honey, let's get out at the next light, I think he's on the pot,'" he quipped.
