Enrique Iglesias breaks the billion-view mark on YouTube

The music video for Enrique Iglesias’s hit single “Bailando” broke into the list of YouTube clips viewed over one billion times.
The so-called King of Latin is the first Hispanic artist to reach the critical milestone. The song, an urban-flamenco party anthem that was released in 2014 and features Cuban singer Descemer Bueno and reggaeton band “Gente de Zona,” also from Cuba.
It is also the only song in Spanish that is part of the Billion Views Club, one of Youtube’s most prestigious circles for the past ten years.
The single is only the second song in a language other than English to be part of this exclusive list.
When the singer heard the news, he took to Instagram to thank his fans in both English and Spanish saying: “Thank you guys so much for getting Bailando Spanish version to 1 BILLION views. Incredible!!! Muchísimas gracias por lograr que Bailando versión en Español llegara a 1 billon de visitas!”
The billion-view mark also means that Iglesias’s music video is the most-watched video in the Spanish language, ever to be posted on Youtube.
But the Spaniard is not the only Latino to make a mark on the web, as Shakira’s World Cup song “La, La, La (Brazil 2014)” surpassed the 200 million mark on Youtube in 2014.
