GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Human Rights Watch says Israeli authorities are blocking its access to the Gaza Strip to document abuses.
In a 47-page report released Monday, the group says travel restrictions call into question Israel's claim to rely on rights organizations as an important source for is investigations into potential crimes committed during the 2014 Gaza war.
HRW says Egypt is also imposing severe travel restrictions and Gaza's militant Hamas leaders aren't protecting human rights workers and in some cases harass those who criticize it.
Israel says any travel restrictions in and out of Gaza are a result of security concerns.
Human Rights Watch recommends the International Criminal Court open an investigation into "potential serious crimes committed in Palestine since June 2014."
