Albanian police say they have arrested a man and are hunting for two women for allegedly defrauding more than two dozen people in a human trafficking scam.

Police said Tuesday that 25-year-old Klevis Rreshka and the unidentified women had deceived at least 27 Albanians into paying to be brought to Australia, Canada or Britain for employment or study.

Local news reports said that in the last two years the victims each paid 2,000-20,000 euros ($2,250-22,575). Police said there may be more victims out there who haven't reported being defrauded.

The two women at large, managers of a local employment agency, are believed to have left Albania before the arrest warrants were issued. If convicted, they face up to 15 years imprisonment.
