US Airman killed after strong winds damage building in Southwest Asia

A United States Airman died after strong winds damaged the overseas building where the service member was working, military officials revealed Friday.

A sudden blast of extreme winds known as a microburst hit the building in Southwest Asia, U.S. Air Forces Central Command officials said. They did not reveal the specific country.

An investigation is underway.

The Airman was assigned to the 407th Air Expeditionary Group. Officials said they would release the service member's name after notifying family members.
