JERUSALEM – Palestinian health officials say a 22-year-old Palestinian was killed and four others were wounded in clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent says Eyad Sajadiyeh was shot in the head.
The Israeli military says troops entered the Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, early on Tuesday to retrieve a pair of soldiers who had lost their way and came under attack. It says their jeep was pelted with rocks and firebombs and the soldiers had to flee after it caught fire.
They were later rescued. Five Israeli soldiers were wounded in the violence.
It's the latest in five months of near-daily Palestinian attacks that have killed 28 Israelis. At least 167 Palestinians have been killed, most of them said by Israel to have been attackers.
