Prosecutors in western Mexico say they have found the bullet-ridden bodies of four men dumped near a toll booth on a highway.

Prosecutors in the western state of Michoacan said the victims were all men, and appear to have been killed elsewhere and dumped in a parking area near the toll booth.

They were found Monday morning. None has yet been identified.

Michoacan has suffered drug cartel violence, and also an armed uprising by vigilante groups starting in 2013.

The vigilantes sought to kick the Knights Templar cartel out of the state.
