SAO PAULO – Police say they have found seven bodies buried in the backyard of a house painter's home in a slum of Brazil's biggest city.
Sao Paulo police inspector Nilze Scapulatiello told reporters on Tuesday that the bodies were found after police went to the house of Jorge Luiz Morais de Oliveira to arrest him for allegedly stabbing to death his 21-year-old neighbor and burying the body in the backyard.
Scapulatiello said the man confessed to killing his neighbor. Police then found bloodstained brass knuckles and knives and men's, women's and children's clothing and shoes inside the Oliveira's house.
In her words, "This led us to believe we would find more bodies hidden in the house, and we did."
