Brazilian MMA fighter Monique Bastos used her training to stop an alleged robber who thought she would make an easy target. She made him cry for his mom.

Bastos told MMAFighting.com that she was on her way to train when the alleged robbers arrived on a motorcycle and took her cellphone.

"I was going to my jiu-jitsu training when they arrived on a motorcycle and said they wanted our phones," Bastos told the website. "I tried to hold my phone, and I realized they were not armed. When they tried to escape, I lifted the rear wheel of the bike and they fell on the ground. The guy who took my phone ran away, but I was able to get the other one."

Bastos, who is jiu-jitsu specialist, used her training to take the man to the ground and throwing him into a triangle choke. He begged onlookers to call the police and his mom.

“Dad, Dad, I’m going to be my dad! Help, Jesus! It was the first time that I’ve ever done that, God!” he reportedly said in a video. “It was the first time. She’s choking me. Where’s my mom?”

The man identified as Wesley Sousa de Araujo was arrested about 15 minutes. Bastos said it was not the first time she’s had to stop a robbery.

"I’ve been through this a few times before, and it’s the second time I fought back," she told MMAFighting.com. "There were two guys, and they were using knives, but I was able to use my jiu-jitsu and get my phone back. It’s a huge risk, but I did it to defend myself and my friends, so I used what I learned."

According to the website, Bastos has six professional MMA fights and a few jiu-jitsu and muay thai bouts to her name. The second alleged robber has not been found yet.
