On Saturday he was behaving bizarrely.

On Sunday he was dead.

Paul Michael Bracamontes, who was 22, was said to have been ranting about zombies at a party Saturday night, and to have been hallucinating, according to the Los Angeles Times.

On Sunday at 3:15 a.m., he allegedly somehow ended up in the backyard of a Yorba Linda, California home and screamed. A man who lived in the house yelled at Bracamontes; the man’s wife called police.

Bracamontes broke a glass door and entered, and the homeowner shot him, the Times quoted a law enforcement authority as saying.

It is unclear how many times the husband shot Bracamontes.

The intruder’s relatives told police that he had been making nonsensical statements about zombies at a party on Saturday, and also spoke about wanting a gun, the newspaper said.

The Yorba Linda couple did not know Bracamontes.

Bracamontes had been charged with public intoxication in January, but that case was dropped, according to the Times.
