Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has been following doctors' orders to rest on Monday after a brain injury, without clarifying whether she will hand over power to her vice president.

Sen. Anibal Fernandez often acts as a government spokesman and even he says he doesn't know if the president will formally delegate her powers to Amado Boudou, who is under investigation for corruption and illegal enrichment and has one of the worst images currently among Argentine politicians.

He tells the Telefe channel that he doesn't have a clear idea of what will happen, but says the president "needs to rest her head and slow down a bit."

Boudou joined top Cabinet officials in a show of unity Monday, delivering some squad cars to the border police.
